To obtain a formed or a profile article having a top layer fitted to a substrate or a base by forming a laminated sheet for solid surface material first, and next forming the laminated sheet for solid surface material into a state of a laminated sheet for profile solid surface material.

First a top layer is covered by an adhesive, a decorative surface material is stacked thereon and a laminated sheet for solid surface material which is cured beforehand is formed. Next the laminated sheet for solid surface material is placed in a vacuum forming mold of high temperature and low pressure. The forming mold is closed, vacuum is applied to the forming mold and the vacuum and the temperature is maintained in a sufficient period of time to impart an outline of a shape of the forming mold to the laminated sheet for solid surface material. A curing temperature of the adhesive is maintained in a sufficient period of time for curing and cooling of the adhesive, and generating bond strength sufficient to substantially prevent delaminating at the time of using thereafter. Thereafter the forming mold is air-cooled to a room temperature, and the laminated sheet for profile solid surface material is released from the forming mold.
