Abstract:

To provide a method, a device and a program for calculating the estimated amount of the toner coverage required for printing the print data defined in the format of the compressed data stream.

The coverage data is obtained from the data stream in the partially decompressed format, and the coverage estimation amount is obtained by using the same. Thus, full decompression of the data stream is not required to be executed. For example, the coverage data is the number of color pixels with respect to at least one density level.
