Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing an organic LED, suitable for mass production and reducing a manufacturing cost without requiring much labor and a high labor cost.
SOLUTION: In this method for manufacturing the organic LED, a fluid is sprayed from a nozzle to dissolve an organic material or a water soluble material to be eliminated from the multilayer structure of an organic luminescent layer, a hole transfer layer, a hole injection layer, an electron transfer layer and an electron injection layer on a substrate. The dissolved organic or soluble material is eliminated using an air venting or pumping system such as a vacuum system. The multiplayer structure of the organic luminescent layer, hole transfer layer, hole injection layer, electron transfer layer and electron injection layer is patterned. After patterning, a step for encapusulation is carried out. The multiplayer structure is thereby wrapped and protected from oxygen and water. The possibility of cathode reacting with an oxygen or water molecule is lowered to effectively improve the service life of a device.
