Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a self-traveling elevator where the weight is light and a strong braking force is obtained, appropriate landing stop of a car can be held, the emergency stop during the traveling at excessive high speed or the free fall due to the power failure, breakdown or the like can be surely executed, and the safety can be secured.
CONSTITUTION: A self-traveling elevator driven by a linear motor is provided with a wedge type braking device 10 consisting of an elastic supporting body 12, a wedge 14 which is pushed against a guide rail 2 by the energizing force of the elastic supporting body through a wedge guide 13 and applies the brake to stop a car by the friction force, and a release mechanism 15 to release the elastic supporting body 12 so as to separate the wedge 14 from the guide rail 2 when the car is traveling. In addition, a speed regulating machine 20 to pull in the wedge 14 between the wedge guide 13 and the guide rail 2 by detecting the excessive speed of the car and a balance spring 40 which supports the wedge 14 by the spring force from the lower side, and pushes the wedge 14 between the wedge guide and the guide rail 2 when the free fall of the car is not balanced with the gravity of the wedge 14 are provided.
