Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce a hot rolled steel plate excellent in surface property even for hard to put scale material by descaling so as to calculate a colliding pres sure required at the minimum to peel scale and setting the colliding pressure higher than the calculated.
SOLUTION: A scale breaker 3 arranged in the direction orthogonal to the moving direction of slab is arranged at the inlet side of a finish rolling mill 2, a slab containing 0.2-2.0% Si or 0.2-2.0% Ni is subjected to descaling by high pressure water jet at least one time or more. Herein a colliding pressure P is set to a colliding pressure P' at the irreducible minimum obtained by the following equation (1). P'=6√Si+4√Ni+0.7/1×10-2(R+45)×log(T/160)+1.1...(1) P': Colliding pressure at the irreducible minimum (kgf/cm2) P: Colliding pressure (kgf/cm2) Si: Si(%) Ni: Ni(5) R: Accumulated draft (%) up to descaling T: Steel temp. (°) at descaling.
