Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a silicone rubber sponge composition containing a non- cyano-type organic azo compound of formula (2) as a foaming agent and accordingly giving a silicone rubber sponge having smooth and tack-free surface of the skin layer, having high safety and excellent foamability and containing uniform and fine cells without using a long post-curing treatment.
SOLUTION: The silicone rubber sponge composition comprises as indispensable components (A) 100 pts.wt. of an organopolysiloxane expressed by average compositional formula (1) R1aSiO(4-a)/2 (R1 groups are each same or different substituted or non-substituted univalent hydrocarbon group; and (a) is 1.95-2.04), (B) 1-100 pts.wt. of fine silica powder having a specific surface area of ≥50 m2/g and (C) 0.01-50 pts.wt. of an organic azo compound expressed by formula (2) (R2 and R3 are each same or different alkylene group; and R4 and R5 are each same or different hydrogen atom or non-substituted univalent hydrocarbon group).
