Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a sleeve for mounting of a vent cap and a mount construction of the sleeve, by which a favorable waterproof effect is readily obtained irrespective of irregularities on a siding surface.
CONSTITUTION: A sleeve for mounting of a vent cap comprises a sleeve body 11 adapted to be inserted into a through hole 2 formed in a wall portion 1, a flange 12, which is formed on the sleeve body 11 and to which a vent cap 16 is mounted, a sealing portion 13 formed on the flange 12 and adapted to abut against a surface of the wall portion 1, and a fixing portion 14 fixed to a back surface of the wall portion 1 and engaged with an outer periphery of a base end of the sleeve body 11 to fix the sleeve body 11 thereto with the sleeve body 11 withdrawn toward a side of the back surface of the wall portion 1. Withdrawing the sleeve body 11 toward a side of the back surface of the wall portion 1 and fixing it presses the sealing portion 13 against the surface of the wall portion whereby a favorable waterproof effect is obtained.
