To provide a surface shape determining device for an object to be measured in a machine tool capable of detecting a position of an object to be measured, capable of informing the surface shape of the object to be measured by measuring it, and also, capable of easily measuring a hole diameter of a machined hole and a center-to-center distance of the holes.
An air jet nozzle 23 is moved in the X-axis direction at a fixed speed in a state that the tip face of the air jet nozzle 23 is separated from a machined workpiece W by a prescribed interval h. The air jet nozzle 23 is moved so as to pass through the centers O1, O2 of the machined holes Wb, Wc of the workpiece W by injecting air from an injection hole 27a of a nozzle body 27. Pressure fluctuations are measured by a pressure measuring device 30. The X coordinates of the centers O1, O2 of the holes Wb, Wc, the hole diameter E, and the center-to-center distance D1 of the holes are calculated on the basis of the coordinates of the center points T1, T2 at the inclined parts Ld, Lu of a curved line Lx of the pressure to the measured X-axis coordinates.
