PURPOSE: To eliminate a chrominance carrier signal and a residual luminance signal of a lower side adjacent channel from an output of a synchronous detector by filtering the chrominance carrier signal and the residual luminance signal of the lower side adjacent channel from an output of a signal sampler by means of a vertical filter and subtracting the filtered signal from the output of the signal sampler by a subtractor.

CONSTITUTION: An output x(n) from a video signal filter 30 is applied to a terminal 41 as an input. In Fig., 42-1,42-2∼42-N are 1H delay elements, 43-0,43-1∼ 43-N are multipliers having a gain of hv(n), 44,45 and 46 are adders and 47 is a subtractor. The multipliers 43-0,43-1∼43-N are connected to a terminal 41 and the tap of the 1H delay elements 42-1,42-2∼42-N, the adder 44 adds outputs of the multipliers 43-0,43-2,43-4∼43-N, the adder 45 adds outputs of the multipliers 43-1,43-3∼43-(N-1), the adder 46 adds outputs of the adders 44, 45 and the subtractor 47 adds outputs of the adders 44 and 45.
