Abstract:
A fusion splicer according to one embodiment comprises: a base having a plurality of V-grooves for respectively positioning a plurality of optical fibers; and a plurality of clamps for retaining the plurality of optical fibers respectively mounted on the plurality of V-grooves. The plurality of clamps are arranged along a direction in which the plurality of optical fibers are arranged. The plurality of clamps are configured to respectively retain the optical fibers corresponding thereto.
