Abstract:

To obtain a pharmaceutical preparation for parenteral administration of antithrombin III without increasing a hemorrhagic tendency.

This pharmaceutical preparation for parenteral administration of antithrombin III contains only the β-isoform of the antithrombin III or a mixture of the α-isoform with the β-isoform. The β-isoform accounts for at least 15 wt.% of the total amount of the antithrombin. Furthermore, a glycosaminoglycan, especially a heparin is contained as an active compound.
