A system comprises: a face direction detection device 3 for detecting a yaw rate of the head of a driver imaged by an imaging device 2; a yaw rate sensor 4 for detecting a vehicle yaw rate of a vehicle 1; an arithmetic device 6 for comparing the time-series data of the yaw rate of the head detected by the face direction detection device 3 and the vehicle yaw rate detected by the yaw rate sensor 4, and calculating a phase advance T and a correlation coefficient between the yaw rate of the head and the vehicle yaw rate; and a determination device 8 for determining and evaluating the driving characteristics of the driver based on the phase advance T and the correlation coefficient acquired by the arithmetic device 6.
