In this case, a reflection type polarizing plate is utilized as a second polarizing plate, the liquid crystal display panel 9 is provided with reflection characteristics, the absorption characteristics of the solar battery unit 12 or a color film 11 are utilized and display is performed. Then, the color film 11 for transmitting light almost equal to the absorption optical wavelength of the power generation area of the solar battery unit 12 is provided between the solar battery unit 12 on the back surface side of the liquid crystal display panel 9 and a printing layer is provided on the solar battery unit 12 further. Thus, the solar battery unit 12 is arranged on the back surface side of the liquid crystal display panel 9 without lowering the power generation efficiency of the solar battery unit 12.
