Abstract:

To provide a method by which regulation of an enzyme activity can simply be carried out without accompanying inactivation of the enzyme and to provide a reagent.

The method for regulating the enzyme activity comprises selectively and irreversibly binding a chelate compound to a phosphate monoester moiety of a cofactor. A method for enzymically assaying a substance comprises selectively and irreversibly binding the chelate compound to the phosphate monoester moiety of the cofactor. The reagent enzymically assays the substance containing at least the cofactor, the enzyme and a substrate and the chelate compound selectively and irreversibly binding to the phosphate monoester moiety of the cofactor.
