Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve expansion method and device functioning so as to decode and/or expand plural different encoded input signals. SOLUTION: A multiple standard video decoder is provided with plural processing stages 36 connected by a 2-wire interface and arranged as a pipeline processor. A control token and a data token are sent through the 2-wire interfaces 31 and 42 so as to transmit both control and data by a token format. A token decoding circuit 33 is placed in a specified stage so as to recognize a specified token as the control token intrinsic to the specified stage and to send a non-recognized control token through a pipeline. A reconfiguration processing circuit is placed in a selected stage, reconfurse such a stage in response to a recognized control token and handles a recognized already identified data token.
